We miss you Mike.

Today was a very tough day for everyone at Aspen. The first day of the Chicago con we recieved news of Michael Turner's rapidly declining health, and rushed back to LA early the next morning. Sadly, after his long battle with cancer, he finally succumbed, passing away late last night. I have had the honor of working with Mike for the last 4 years, and I'm blessed that I could call him a friend. Mike was a stand-up guy, a great role model, and a tough, tough guy. His perseverance through all his health problems has been a big source of inspiration for me, and he'll always have a place in my heart. I'm really glad I got to see him one last time before he passed...I told him how much he meant to me, and how much he had changed my life for the better. I think he heard me and understood...I miss you already bro, but I know you're in a much better place with no pain or suffering. I'll see you soon.

p.s. If anyone is wondering why my mood is 'love', its because it wouldn't let me change it. But I definitely felt a lot of love between all the people that visited MIke in the hospital before he passed though, and looking at the number and quality of the people he called friends, it speaks volumes about him as a person.

Thanks for highlighting this mate, I wouldn't have found out otherwise, even the aspen site has no updates regarding it. I've made a journal entry to spread the news a little bit, I hope you're dealing with it ok.
HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!! Well, just sent you a message on Myspace, but my God man, my heart just sank down to my nuts reading this. Definately one of the saddest days this Industry will ever have. At least for me anyway.

I don't know that I can other say...
He was the best comics drawer, the artist who makes me the project to become a comics drawer...

Have courage.

He was the most amazing of artists, I've been collecting comics for years and years. It's so sad to hear that he passed away, but I hope he is a better place now. His art will be remembered, I'm sure. He had such a special style, and it was a dream of mine, to someday go to the states, just to see him at some convention.
It must've been amazing, to be a friend of this man.

R.I.P Michael.

And thank you for highlighting this. Now I will take even better care of my comics, seeing how fragile life itself can be.

Wow you pretty much put into words what I feel and think of art styles. *feels like I'm in the twilight zone.* Keep rockin' it man. You're the creater of your own world. In the end that's what an artist is. A creater. And those who truely have the gift ar
